Lanre Fassy… Bringing Back Owambe Beats To Nigerians and International Community

In the words of Dr. Dale Turner “Dream are renewable.  No matter what the age or condition, there are still untapped possibilities waiting to be born”

As the saying goes “Education Is the Only Emancipation”.  In line with this philosophical ideology, Olanrewaju Fasasi AKA  (Lanre Fassy) attended St. Johns’ Primary School and Hope Secondary Modern School all in Ibadan the then Capital of the old Western Region and now the Capital of Oyo State South West Nigeria with clean and clear records,

After the completion of his Secondary Modern School Education, he moved to Lagos in the year 1962 to seek for greener pasture.  He worked as a Petrol Attendant with Texaco for many years, rose to the position of a Supervisor and later joined Teju Foam Industries as a Hire Purchase Clerk.  In 1966, he joined late Ayinde Bakare & His Inner Circle Orchestra but unfortunately the band was disbanded in 1967.  During that period of disbandment he went back to work as Supervisor Merchandising with Texaco.  Later  late  Ayinde Bakere formed a band led by Gbenga Adefeso between 1973 to 1977 but later formed his own band in 1977 named Lanre Fassy & His Easy Going Orchestra.  The Band recorded an Album with Decca (West Africa) Limited through late Chief M.K.O. Abiola who was the Director of Decca (West Africa) Limited but the record was not released but was pirated and there was nothing he could do because there was no Copyright Law in Nigeria then. He also recorded an Album with Phillips Records Limited but the Album was not also released. He was linked to Skylak Records Label owned by late Olu Aboderin the publishers of The Punch Newspapers through late I. K. Dairo, he was  in number ten position of the numerous musicians lined up for recording but unfortunately, Chief Olu Aboderin died and Skylak Records Label folded up,

Lanre Fassy  & His Ages Orchestra has just completed a rejuvenated Juju Highlife music recording with modern state-of-the-arts technology with Gnenga Melody producing a six tracts New Dimensional Highlife Juju Music to be released very soon.

Previewing the Album in my capacity as the Media Consultants (African Heritage (Words & Images) Broadcast Network  to Lanre Fassy & His Ages Orchestra, there is no doubt  about it and also there is no gain saying that the record is a refined replication of the music of Lagos of Old with creative Guitar works and sonorous octave voice of Lanre Fassy really fascinates my mind reminding one of the Owemba of Isale Eko.  The most remarkable viable message carrying lyrical contents is the recitation of ABC – Z which makes the Album a commercial one indeed.  With the tremendous works puts up in packaging of this Album, Lanre Fassy & His Ages Orchestra is set to catapult Juju Highlife to a New Dimensional level of Juju Owambe contemporary Yoruba music to the Nigerian populace and the International Community.  Coming Your Way Soon, So Watch Out!!!
